1- Andy, welcome to World of Models family, its a great pleasure to have you herel! So, take your shoes off, have fun and enjoy the ride! Tell us about yourself, hometown and personal interests.
Hey, World of Models, first of all thank you so much for having me. My name is Andy Ashton. I was born and raised in the North of England from a town called Blackpool. It's known as the British Las Vegas, due to it's exceptional attractions such as the once in a year illuminations display and first class entertainment for all the family.
2- When and why did you decide to become a model? How did get discovered and tell us about your first test shooting and your actual projects.Whats the best thing about modeling for you so far?
I always enjoyed been centre of attention at school and whenever I was hanging out with my friends. I began working out at the age of 15 years old and then when I started to see the transformation in my body, I would run upstairs to my mum's bedroom, where there was a huge mirror and I would stand in front of it posing. I would say to myself, I'm looking good. I could be a model.
My whole career began and still is in Health & Fitness. I've been working as a Holistic Health & Fitness Professional and nutritionist for more than a decade. While I was working in the gym, I would read magazines for inspiration and I saw a publication in a fitness magazine for a competiton called Model Universe which was held in Miami. I decided to train my ass off, and go to Miami to compete. When I arrived to Miami, I knew great things were going to happen. I won the show and I did my first ever shootings on Miami Beach. This is where my modeling career bagan.
The best thing I can say about my modeling career so far is that I've been able to travel around Europe and the US, I've met some wonderful people on the journey and most importantly, I've discovered who I am as a human being.
3- What do you like most when you work with a photographer? Do you have any special preparation before posing to a photographer? Are you comfortable being naked in front of the camera? I´m sure you might have some unusual/funny backstages stories. Share some of them with us.
I love to work with the best photographers in the industry, they understand and know exactly what you must do in order to take a great picture that will last a lifetime.
The way I prepare myself before a photoshoot is I make sure that I am feeling relaxed, I take deep breaths, close my eyes and visualize the perfect picture.
I have always been comfortable in my own skin. I would always walk around my mum's house naked, checking myself in the mirror. I feel it's the best way to really get to know and feel yourself. If you haven't taken a really good luck at yourself naked then you are really missing the whole picture of who you really are. When I shoot nude, it's a great sensation knowing that I can dislay my true self and inspire what the male physique is all about.
Some backstage stories. Well, you know the saying, "what goes on backstage, stays backstage". I will leave the rest up to you.
4- Tell us about your experiences in catwalks and also some cool/funny backstages. Which fashion designers youve already worked for?
Catwalks are an amazing experience. They make you come out of yourself. You leave all your fear for that one moment to be seen and shine. When I strut the catwalk, I just do my thing and know that this is the moment I've been waiting for.
I've been very fortunate and blessed to work for, Abercrombie & Fitch, Gilly Hicks, Guess Jeans, W Magazine with Kate Moss, Lara Stone and Daria Werbowsky, L'UOMO Vogue, Aussie Bum, Under Armour & Greg Parry underwear.
5- Do you think male models nowadays have the same exposure as we see with female models or women still rule this business?
My personal opinion is that females still rule the fashion buiness. There are some great male models but we are still the props for the women.
6- Are you a fashionista? What do you like to wear when you are not working as a model?
I'm very much a fashionista. I really do love fashion. I'm the kind of guy that goes for comfort and classical. When I'm not working as a model, I just like to wear casual clothes such as a nice pair of jeans, plain t-shirt and comfortable pumps.
7- Just imagine a situation: You are anonymous in a crowd. Nobody notices you. Then all of a sudden, a fan approaches you and reveals to others that you are a very popular and famous model. The excitement takes over and the crowd gets wild. How would you handle it?
Depending on the kind of mood that I would be in, I would probably take off my clothes, stand on a table and give the crowd a 360° spin and tell them I love you.
8- What do you think about show business? Do you think nowdays male models got the same attention as we see with female models and what are your fav male and female models that inspired u for pursue a modeling career.
Show business is like a roller coaster ride, one minute you are up, the next you are down. It all depends on how well you deal with the presssure and how persistent and determined you really are to make it to the top.
Both male and female models are getting their names out there. It's very rare that you see the same models delivering year after year. I would still say that the women are the ones who are reconigzed the most.
I don't really have a favorite male model although I was inspired by Tyson Beckford as a kid and my all time favorite picture is of Lars Burmeister for Acqua Di Gio for Men by Giorgio Armani. The picture is the epitome of male perfection.
My favorite female supermodels are Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. They all know how to work their magic in front of the camera.
9- How do you describe your style, concerning:
My style is cool, calm and collective. I take each day as it comes. I forget about the past, look forward to the future and live in the present. Life is too short to be worrying all the time. You really just have to get up and live life.

I have never been a player. I'm a Gentleman that treats women with respect.
Sports:
My favorite sports are Boxing, Fitness and UFC. I like the one man band stuff. Do or Die. It's you or nothing.

The way I attract people's attention is just by smiling. It seems to work. I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Your way to have fun, the places you usually go and your way to enjoy the best of life:
I love to hang out with friends and family. My favorite restaurant is The Cheesecake Factory. I'm a beach boy that loves to be near the ocean. It keeps me realxed and gives me a sense of satisfaction. Real life action movies are my favorite and I love a good read of inspirational material. I do spend a lot of time alone, which is essential to really get to know your true self, when I do socialize with friends, it's only with positive, great energetic people.
The craziest (nastiest?) thing youve ever done in a summer time season:
The craziest thing, I've ever done is move to Los Angeles with no family, friends, visa or credit card. Somehow you just make it happen.
Fav body part and why?
My favorite body part is my butt. It just fits great in a pair of jeans and the women love it.

An unforgettable moment was shooting in Miami Beach naked with Kate Moss, Lara Stone and Daria Webowsky whilst getting a nice relaxing massage. It just doesn't get any better than that. Also making a great friend with one of the greatest Photographers, Bruce Weber.
Your main motto: Get ready for some Andy Ashton time. Just do it. Actions speak louder than words and Perfect.
And when you´ll come to my world?
Brazil is definitely on my to do list. I haven't visited the beautiful tropical paradise of what Brazil has to offer. I will definitely show my face there sometime and Ed, you will be the first person to know.
